  it really stands out to me just how phoney the bonds of forced brotherhood are.

  the smiles are paper thin when they see each other in hotels.

  I felt the same about the elder tag. And at our convention today they've started introducing the speakers as 'convention coordinator and elder in such and such congregation', or 'branch overseer and elder in bethel', even more drawing attention to their titles.

  so my 14 yr old son and i are sitting discussing the eu election vote, and joking around that the we could see a future with donald trump and boris johnson being the uk and us leaders.

  we were swapping pictures and jokes from facebook.. but his dad is sitting there waiting until we leave, and comes out with "well daniel 2.44" which reads.......... "and in the days of those kings the god of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin.

  and the kingdom itself will not be passed onto any other people.

  there's simply no way to honestly deny that the ot condones genocide, slavery and misogyny.

  there are too many passage showing yahweh commanding his people to wipe out this nation and that nation - women and innocent children included!

  it leaves us with a god who wrote a book that very, very, very much seems like it condones genocide, but it doesn't, etc.. what kind of god does that?

  Watchtower and Brexit

  so britain is leaving the european union (eu).. the governing body of jehovah's witnesses have over the past year moved the majority of its european activities to the control of watchtower britain and the ibsa primarily because of britain's membership with the eu.. further, the incorporated pseudo-political lobby group, european association of jehovah's christisn witnesses, based in brussels, is administered by watchtower britain and its officers.

  Oh no, you know how this is going to be spun don't you? By divine revelation wt moved their operations to Germany JUST before brexit. Must have been Yahweh.

  Being a Socially Inept ex-JW

  so i'm absolutely clueless concerning relationships.

  i had barely any friends at all growing up a jw kid & absolutely no interaction with "worldly" people or any guys whatsoever.

  i have had a relationship of sorts with a guy for 4.5 months now, but i'm so clueless!

  my initial pangs of unease and doubt led me to research some things.

  well, a lot of things really.

  i've never felt comfortable using the bible to try to calculate dates (1914).

  Yes.

  I wanted to die. I thought I'd let everybody down, my wife, my family, my god.

  I wasn't 100% sure when I first started learning ttatt, I just didn't trust my own reasoning power enough. Even now, on occasion, my brain flips back into jdub mode and I wonder if I've been fooled by evil apostates! That's why I keep a file of all the stuff I'm learning, written in my own words and with wt quotes as well. It doesn't take much to realise how much they've obscured the truth from everyone.

  i didn't attend the meeting last night, but my in husband came home and was quite shocked because there was a letter announcing that there will be no wt-library cd-rom any more, and..... no more calendar.. he said there was a lot of talking and noise when that was announced.. i didn't expect the calender to go, by the way.

  and my husband sounded really concerned, talking about how society is cutting down.

  i love it when he says with a tone of surprise in his voice: 'you were right, now they want us to do everyting digital, and throw out the printed stuff.

  Hang on, no CD ROM either? I must've missed that. Can you download that online, or are they making everyone use the "online research tool" which is so substandard compared to the CD-ROM .
